About this Talk

Actinobacteria are now known to be the primary cause of immune reactivity in CIRS, especially in cases with skin colonization. In this talk, Dr. Jacki Meinhardt explores the influence of plasminogen activators, enzymes that break down clots, on biofilm formation. Dr. Meinhardt illustrates through case studies how some CIRS patients may be predisposed to excessive biofilm formation via plasminogen activation, which may promote sustained colonization of actinobacteria and other pathogens.
