Mindy Mastruserio MS, NCC, LPC, CCTP-II

Mindy Mastruserio is a psychotherapist and the owner of Healing Connection Counseling LLC. She has over 15 years of clinical experience working at multiple levels of care in the mental health field including: an inpatient psychiatric unit as a milieu therapist; a mobile county crisis clinician; a therapist at an Intensive Outpatient Program; a psychotherapist in private practice. 

She earned a dual Bachelor’s Degree in psychology and sociology at the University of Pittsburgh and completed a Master’s in Professional Counseling at Carlow University. Her clinical interests and training following graduation have always centered around what her patient interactions and needs are, which have led to additional specialty trainings in crisis stabilization and acute care; trauma; and currently: acute, chronic illness. 

She was diagnosed with CIRS in 2020 and completed her training to become a Shoemaker Proficiency Partner Diplomate in May of 2023. She has extensive personal experience with tick borne illness, MCAS, and is passionate about advocacy and specifically educating other mental health professionals about CIRS, as it is her experience with this illness that has shown her that CIRS can likely be the root cause of what so many simply attribute to a purely psychiatric concern. She is passionate about screening all of her patients with a VCS and providing psychoeducation about the impacts of environmental toxins, especially to those with HLA susceptibility. She is currently working to develop a community of clinicians who are educated to do the same.

She is currently licensed to see adult clients in: Florida, Idaho, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Virginia. She specializes in providing psychotherapy to individuals with mood and anxiety disorders and trauma and has begun to deeply assist those diagnosed with CIRS throughout their recovery journey. Mindy deeply values collaborating with other professionals in order to best assist an individual, including their Shoemaker Certified Physician.
